Beautiful vintage bookplate featuring historic ballooning.

The first plate shows a colored etching titled "Ascent of James Sadler at Oxford 1810," which commemorates a historic flight by Britain’s pioneering aeronaut. The scene depicted took place on July 7, 1810, to mark the installation of Lord Grenville as Chancellor of Oxford University.
