Description

The balloon ascension of Sophie Blanchard at the Champ-de-Mars in Paris on June 24, 1810. It was part of the grand public celebrations for the marriage of Napoleon I and Marie-Louise of Austria. These are lithograph reproductions produced by Éditions du Chêne in Paris around 1956 as part of a series celebrating historical ballooning.
