Beautiful vintage purple porcelain pin cushion doll. These bottomless figurines were produced primarily from the late 1900s to the 1930s. They were designed to decorate everyday domestic utilities. The sew holes at the base allowed a voluminous fabric skirt to be stitched on. These hidden skirts covered household objects like pin cushions, tea cosies, powder boxes, and whisk brooms. Made in Germany, it depicts a Regency or Georgian-era lady with a high-piled pompadour hairstyle, pink shawl, and ruffled cuffs.
